Photo StylesThere are many different styles for a photo-shoot:
We have listed some of the styles, let us know what you want and we will do our best to meet your request.
StudioWe bring a large backdrop and lighting equipment to transform your room into a studio for the photo-shoot. This requires a large amount of space so furniture that will get in the way such as a dining table or the sofa will need to be removed from the room before we arrive. We will also need power sockets available for our lighting equipment.
Show HouseWe try to make your room look like a show house in a property development. To do this we will need the room de-cluttering. Furniture essential for the photo-shoot such as the sofa can stay but everything else will need to be pushed to the side / removed before we arrive. We will use your room as a background so if the mantelpiece is covered with ornaments or the coffee table has a stack of newspapers or there are photographs on the wall it will spoil the look. The more space we have the larger and less cluttered the room will appear. We will use our lighting equipment so we need space and access to power sockets. Watch any of the TV programs about selling your house to get a feel for this sort of minimal room layout.
NaturalWe will use natural light for the photographs where possible. You will need to let us know when the light is best in the room you want to use, for example if the sun only shines in the room between 9am and 11.30am let us know to make sure you get a morning photo-shoot. We may still need to use our lighting equipment if the room is painted in dark colours or there is insufficient light coming through the windows because of poor weather etc. A few carefully chosen items can be placed around the room to give a lived in look such as a single magazine on the coffee table.
RelaxedThis aims to show the person relaxing. This can be done outside with minimal equipment, for example relaxing in the garden.
ActionCapturing rapid movement can be challenging but if done properly the picture will tell its own story. I took this picture at a rally.
